The Bishop's Garden at the Washington National Cathedral
This garden continuously inspires us for its drama and tranquility--done simultaneously. It is a garden set in beautiful surroundings with majestic views. At every turn there is a new paving material. There are native plantings mixed with annuals and perennials. There is a long border against a stone wall; a water feature with a trough; stone carvings and stone sculpture. There is the blue, purple and white garden; the red and yellow garden; the rose garden;  the fragrance garden; the font garden; and the herb garden. There is a grottoe tucked into the dense surrounding of the Atlas cedars and a timber pavillion. There is elevation and expanse. There are unique trees and shrubs. There is winter framework. In short, this is a paradise and continues to be one of our favorite gardens in Washington.
