Here Starts Yesterday
This garden for an artist began with many complicating site factors. After 3 feet of soil and debris was removed, a most extraordinary granite rock outcropping was revealed---the famous Dumbarton Rock of 30th Street in Georgetown. For an artist, this was serendipity. There is a man made trough fountain carved into the sinuous seating height stone wall and there is a fountain set in the natural outcropping of thousand year old granite. A lovely old brick wall surrounds this historic property. An outdoor kitchen and eating area, 2 fountains, a stone seating wall that wraps the garden and literally thousands of colorful plantings provide a constant source of inspiration and fodder for the imagination.
