Pati's Mexican Table—Garden For A Chef
Pati's Mexican Table (PBS) is filmed in Pati Jinich's kitchen at home. She has over 30 peppers and many of them hot in her parterred vegetable garden and a plethora of colorful and textural plantings to reflect her love of color. Pati's garden was a blank slate 2 years ago with construction fill surrounding the house. Her garden began from the ground up, and like a good recipe, the garden started with good soil. Pati features her garden on her cooking show, so that meant it needed to be inspiring, comfortable and compliment her cooking. Her garden is loaded with interesting plants, espaliered figs, heirloom apple trees, heirloom pear trees, heirloom dwarf peach trees, persimmon trees, blueberry and raspberry bushes, and a sizable herb garden. This most delightful and inspired garden can be enjoyed from a large screen porch in the rear garden or from the charming front porch where a porch swing gives one a view of the dwarf orchard.
