Roman Holiday
It started with just a house, no ordinary house, but an Italian villa. The owner's sensitivity to the garden is evident in the development of this Italianate garden with medieval undertones and a Mediterranean spirit. The front parterres are complete now and the driveway banding is being installed. Originally an open site, the spaces have been transformed into garden rooms, the first room prepares you for entry to the parking courtyard where a limestone fountain echoes in this wide open plaza. This is a garden for family as well, so there are allees and massive hydrangea borders, fragrant roses and citrus parterres, and structure and formality from the tall junipers. This is a garden to delight the senses.
